About the Guatemala Scholarship Fund

In 2000, RPC mission teams to Guatemala saw the need for a scholarship program to help young students in the District of Quiché afford a Christian education. These annual scholarships, funded by RPC members and friends, cover tuition, books, and materials for a full school year, giving students a chance for a brighter future.

About the Schools

Members and friends of Roswell Presbyterian Church sponsor Christian education scholarships for children at three schools in Guatemala

Chulumal Belen School

Kindergarten - 9th Grade
The rural Chulumal School, located near Chichicastenango, serves children from kindergarten to 9th grade. With the help of Roswell Presbyterian Church mission teams and donors, the school has added a second floor and improved safety with new rails. Many of these children are the first in their families to attend school, and thanks to your support, many graduate, continue their education, and pursue careers.

Chichicastenango School

Preschool - 9th Grade
The Colegio Evangelico Methodista Utalan School in Chichicastenango serves over 200 students. In 2018, gifts from the scholarship fund, along with local funding, helped build a much-needed courtyard roof, providing space for a chapel and school gatherings.

Quiché School

Preschool - 12th Grade
Founded in 1965, the Colegio Evangelico Methodista Utalan School is in Santa Cruz del Quiché, Guatemala. In 2020, it served 1,800 students from Pre-K to 12th grade, both local and boarding. Scholarship funds, along with local support, have helped improve the school, including building a pedestrian bridge. Roswell Presbyterian Church has contributed to playground equipment, laptops, and classroom tools. Your generous support is greatly appreciated!

Pam Muñoz, our missionary in Guatemala, oversees the administration of RPC’s scholarship program. She carefully identifies each scholarship student, understands their family situation, and provides updates throughout the year.
